Plan a Visit

We are a friendly church with a big heart, and we invite you to join us for worship and fellowship every Sunday. Whether you grew up with a church or this is your first visit, you are welcome here.

We've included some information below to help you feel comfortable visiting us before you even arrive. Our doors are wide open, so come on in - we're saving you a seat!

Parking and accessibility

Our historic building is located on Route 250 with limited on-street parking. If you use a wheelchair or have mobility issues, we recommend that you park on the street and use our front entrance. Additional parking behind is behind our building, and after walking up the stairs, you'll enter the double doors near our Fellowship Hall.

What to wear

You are welcome to wear whatever you feel comfortable in, whether that be jeans and a t-shirt, or a suit and tie. It is not unusual to see visitors and members alike wear sweatshirts in the winter and flip flops in summertime. We are happy to have you, regardless of your attire - just come as you are!

Getting settled

Once you arrive, ushers will personally welcome you at the door and hand you a bulletin, which has everything you’ll need to follow our worship. If you need help finding a seat or with accommodations for a wheelchair, the ushers are happy to help. As our guest, you will also receive a Welcome Bag, which includes a variety of small gifts, plus a visitor card if you would like to share your contact information and prayer requests.

Holy Communion

Every Sunday, we gather around the table to share Holy Communion. Christians of all ages are welcome to receive the Sacrament at our church. Sharing Christ’s meal strengthens us to go out into the world to serve God and all people. If you or your child are not prepared to receive the sacrament or if you prefer not to participate in Holy Communion, we invite you to come forward for a blessing from our pastor.

Children are welcome

The sounds of young ones enhance our worship, and we welcome God's children, of all ages, to join us at St. Peter's every Sunday. Our pastor enjoys providing fun, kid-friendly lessons during service, plus our weekly bulletin includes puzzles and word games that even our adult members are fond of. The activity bags pictured above were lovingly crafted by our church members and include Bible-themed toys for your child to play with during worship.

After the service

Please join us in the Fellowship Hall for coffee and refreshments, along with a side of conversation. You're welcome to stay for Sunday School at 10:45 AM, which is offered March through December. Follow us on social media for details about our special events and worship services, like potlucks during the seasons of Advent and Lent, and gatherings with our sister congregation, Faith Lutheran, located in Staunton, VA.
