Get to know our pastor
Pastor Rod Ronneberg earned his Master of Divinity from the Lutheran Theological Seminary at Gettysburg in 1975. Since then, he has been honored to serve parishes in Colorado, Pennsylvania, and Maryland.
Pastor Rod and his wife, Prudence, moved to Virginia in 2014, and he currently serves as the Pastor Loci of both St. Peter’s Lutheran Church in Churchville, VA and our sister congregation, Faith Lutheran Church in Staunton, VA.
Visitors and members alike appreciate the spiritual and joyful message that Pastor Rod brings to each service, drawing upon a deep knowledge of the Scriptures, and a warm sense of humor.
Pastor Rod and Prudence have three children and three grandchildren. In his spare time, Pastor Rod can be found reading, hiking with Prue, taking long bike rides, or enjoying the sunrise on a North Carolina beach.
Celebrating 50 Years of Faithful Ministry
In June 2025, our congregation had the joy of celebrating Pastor Rod’s 50th year in ordained ministry. From his first call to his current role with us, Pastor Rod has spent five decades as a thoughtful teacher, patient leader, and devoted servant of Christ.
On the Sunday of his 50th anniversary, we gathered in worship to give thanks and to honor the path he has walked with God. It was a beautiful morning filled with gratitude, stories, and blessings. The celebration continued afterward with a reception full of fellowship and delicious food shared with friends and family.
We are deeply grateful for Pastor Rod’s leadership and guidance, and for his continued ministry in our community.
